"Fwilla" as he is now affectionately called by his sibs (where is the LOVE in FWILLA?? Don't ask me....) is an adorable 1 year old for just 10 more days! Then I will have to call him a 2-year-old! NOOOOOOOO! Lately we have been wrestling quite a bit. He loves it and we both laugh the whole time. He had me amazed when I went to "fly" him with me on my back and my feet on his belly.....I got him elevated and in the usual flying position when he carefully decided to sit up and wrap his legs around my feet, making my feet a chair for his bum! He sat so tall and steady and now refuses to fly the usual and customary way.....he has invented the sit-fly!

In the pool yesterday, he loved doing "flips" where he would crawl up my shoulders, face to face, then sit on my neck, putting both of his legs over my shoulders....after the countdown, I would flip him backwards, supporting him and holding on to one of his arms, and he would land in the water, head up with a full smile and belly laugh! So fun!
Liza has made an amazing smooth transition into the school year this year, especially given the fact that she has not only taken on a new grade level, but a new school, carpool, uniforms, ......the works! She has been a champ and even loves her uniforms. Tonight she didn't want to take off her knee-high socks because they are so comfortable! She is sleeping in them as I type......her vocabulary continues to amaze us as well as her ability to coddle, cradle and cuddle her little brothers. Tonight while I was putting Will to bed, she got herself, Dane and Jonah all matching "CATS the musical" t shirts and bottoms so they could all be triplets for bedtime. She and I got to start a sewing project today; a friendship quilt and she is doing a fantastic job. We love to spend time together and laugh alot while we sew. Our biggest laughing fit of the day came on the trampoline, however, where our "bum wars" turned into laughs so long that my stomach hurt! She is my little sunshine and I'm so thankful I have her.
A few nights ago Jonah told me enthusiastically, "I am a nice toddler mom!"

He IS!! His new thing is attempting to set a world record for the most pajamas worn at once throughout the night by any toddler attempting to night time potty train......and suprisingly it seems to be working! Despite my worries that 4 or 5 layers of bottoms would cost him the few precious seconds of time he would have to get to the bathroom in time in the middle of the night, he has been dry for almost a week! Go Jones!

He sang me a song a song that he "wrote" tonight at bedtime called "The Light Song"....should I be worried that all of the lyrics had to do with picking up stones and breaking all of the lights? I was really expecting something a little bit more mellow; soothing; uplifting.....oh ya he is a boy! Hilarious......

Then on my right side, Dane's song turn was also a hoot.  Entitled "Bumblebee", the entire song, start to finish, was about crabs and how some people get pinched and some people don't, but all crabs can pinch if they want to, etc......still looking for the bumblebee tie-in but maybe that verse is coming tomorrow night?

The Brain of Dane

I'm ok with kids thinking outside of the box, but the brain of Dane has taken it a little bit too far. I hope I don't jinx myself by writing this, or even thinking it, but I'm figuring out that Dane likes to think about heaven. The other night he asked me all about the dinosaurs and extinction...when he figured out that the dinosaurs are in heaven, he said, "So, when I am a great grandpa and I go to heaven, I can see the dinosaurs?" I said yes and he said, "I can't wait to see those dinosaurs mom." I told him that he certainly could wait and to stick around with me for a while (freak out freak out)......Especially that is freak out material after he told me last week, "Mom, if I was invisible, you couldn't see me. But I would still be here." Thanks, but no thanks, ghostie. ooooo shivers......Tonight we were sitting at the dinner table, and he looked out the windows to the back yard and said, "Look at that beautiful earth!" in total amazement as though he had never seen it before. He proceeded to tell me his plans to go in a rocket far far far away from earth into space; my initial response was to protest, but then I decided to go with it and asked him to please send me a letter from space. His response, "OK.... a D!!"

A little freaky, a lot cute, and a very revealing glance into the workings of the unearthly brain of Dane.

LOVE this kid. Will Christian Tolton, age 21 months.....the only way to say it is that he brought a lot of extra "angel" with him from heaven. He is a special little person; very independent and at times totally mild, but also very opinionated and involved. Currently, he is famous for making faces at us to make us laugh BUT what gets us rolling on the floor is that in between the supposedly funny faces that he pulls, his face is STOIC, SERIOUS, SILENT, mouth closed, eyes staring straight ahead until he pulls the next silly face! It's so funny - he doesn't join in with us AT ALL; just goes back to the serious side while we have our laughing fits! Now that is funny!!!!

Hooray for Girls

Liza.....my little buddy...... last night we decided to go on a walk at 9pm (an unusual occurance at our home given that I am a bedtime nazi)! We had such a good time singing, laughing and stopping occasionally to star-watch. She is absolutely delightful and remained positive and tough even in those last long tired minutes of walking home sooooo late. She keeps begging us for a sister, but I am selfishly liking our twosome :)

Turkeys

A few nights ago, the twins were asking me all about where "meat" comes from......oh boy.....I tried to couch it softly, but how do you tell a three-year old (or two) that when he eats chicken nuggets, he is relishing in the slaughter of his favorite farm animal? Touchy topic. But as I got into it, I was explaining that crab meat comes from crab the animal; turkey meat comes from the gobble gobble turkey.....in a moment of their astonished silence, I tried to compensate for the shock by telling them "It's ok; Heavenly Father gave us the animals so that we could eat them. It's ok for us to eat them." Apparently, I did nothing to put out the fire, and had ignited one instead, because Jonah sat straight up in his bed and got the most angry look on his little face and said, "I told Jesus NOT to eat TURKEYS!!"
